Information Systems and Technologies Committee
W. Murray Gordon, Chairman
Since the Committee's inception in April 1997, it has established and subsequently expanded the Society's web site www.amrev.org -, which now assists greatly in advancing the Society's Charter purpose. These goals are:
"To keep before the public mind the memory of the services of their ancestors and of the times in which they lived",
"To perpetuate the memory of the men who, in the military, naval and civil service of the colonies and of the Continental Congress, by their acts and counsel, achieved the Independence of the country", and
"To collect and secure for the preservation the rolls, records and other documents relating to that period";
"To inspire the members of the Society with the patriotic spirit of their forefathers; and to promote the feeling of friendship among them."
To further these objectives, the Committee will focus on providing electronic resources to:
Inform the public of the Society's public events, especially those that build and/or maintain memorials and monuments to Revolutionary War events and other public events conducted by the Society such as the "Let Freedom Ring" celebration;
Inform the public and prospective members about the qualifications for membership and encourage those eligible for membership to join the Society,
Expand membership services and provide a research resource by making speeches, articles and genealogical source material pertinent to the period of the American Revolution available to the public.
