The President's Star is a General Society insignia and may be worn only by the General President and Presidents of State Societies and only while in office. It was conceived by an Insignia Committee of the National Council of the General Society in February 1924. A design by Bailey, Banks & Biddle was submitted to the Committee in September of that year, with the price of each insignia set at $52.00 This design was recommended by the Committee and approved by the National Council in December 1925. In addition to the General Society, the State Societies of New York, Pennsylvania, District of Columbia and Missouri have Stars. |
