Description: Top with front edge even to chest itself (not an overhanging top), with simple shaping around three sides (not at back); the short ends of the top with pieces of wood fastened to the underside, which rest against the short ends of the chest sides when the top is closed. Simple iron escutcheon at center front of chest is not the original for earlier holes are visible on chest. Large dovetails at all four corners, oversized lower molding around three sides (not at back), feet are shaped planks running from front to back with top notched out to receive chest, rounded front foot visible.

Interior with small storage box at right, replacement interior iron strap hinges fix top to chest.
