Desk on Frame

 

Flat-top desk section with slant front, opens to reveal central prospect door with convex cove detailing opening to reveal three small drawers (top with curve at lower front, the other two with small bras pulls), flanked by four vertical openings above two boldly shaped drawers. circa 1750 Delaware Valley

Wide, low box with overhanging top resting on four partial bun feet of metal cylinders cut off at bottom edge.

Long subtly tapered cylinder of finely finished mahogany with brass 2-part. circa 1810 Probably England
17 Surveyor's Compass (with cover and stand) a) Slightly domed brass cover with straight sides, the cover with a series of three incised circular double lines spaced evenly across surface and surrounding a central incised dot. The cover lifts off to reveal b) the silvered engraved dial, and c) Separate brass stand with receiving pole atop disk resting on three bun feet.

a) Semi-circumferentor with detachable rotable sighting bar (upward-turning u-shaped piece of mahogany. b) Simple pine box with overhanging top and molded base, painted black on outside. circa 1780 Probably England

a) Wooden cylindrical rod with two-part brass cap, and b) a metal chain in numerous 8" sections. circa 1800 probably America

Two-part construction. Upper box with flat top resting on a stand with bold upper molding, shaped skirt, four turned legs with ball feet joined by a simple box stretcher. circa 1750 possibly Delaware Valley
