Object Term: Cup and stand Description: a) Silver cup with pear-shaped body with simple rimmed lip, scroll handle with stylized s-curve above a c-curve and turned, stepped foot soldered to bottom of cup. b) Accompanying mahogany stand in the shape of a truncated pyramid (with the top removed), with indented circle on flap top perfectly sized to receive the silver cup's foot, the stand's base covered in brown felt. On each angled face a decoration: 1) a gold ornament with blue and yellow enamel and words "Sons of the Revolution 1883" with eagle above and shield with stars below centering an image of a liberty cap on pole, followed by three silver plaques: 2) "Made by / Joseph Richardson, Jr. / in Philadelphia - circa 1776," 3) "In Memory of / Herbert Crawley Rorer / Captain of the Color Guard / 1953 - 1957," and 4) "In Memory of / Colonel Clarence Payne Franklin / Captain of the Color Guard / 1916 - 1943 / Presented by Thomas Munroe Dobbins."
