PRAYER OF THE SOCIETY

Adopted by the Board of Managers

8 June 1978

 

"O Lord God, as we, the people of these United States of America declare ourselves to be ‘One nation under God,’ may Thy Presence prevail among us, and may Thy Grace enable us to fulfill the hopes, and meet the needs of all Thy people, wheresoever they may be.

"As we openly confess that ‘in God we trust,’ may we dutifully live in accord with Thy will, anxious at all time, and in all places, to further the peace and progress of all mankind;

"And may we, members of the Pennsylvania Society of Sons of the Revolution, always give thanks for all who established and preserved our Nation; that we, with those who preceded us, may be adjudged by those who follow to have been worthy stewards of the principles and resources vouchsafed unto us.

"Declaring our loyalty to God and Country, we pray that we may remain worthy of the unceasing commendation of God and man; by our example and service may God’s Holy Name be praised and blessed forevermore. We offer this expression of our devotion in the Name and for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Blessed Lord and Savior. Amen."
